Chiaprotein powder
The chia plant is native to Mexico and Guatemala, where the Mayas and Aztecs used it as a medicinal plant and a staple food. Chia seed oil is extracted by gently cold-pressing the black seeds of the plant. The oil cake produced during this pressing process is saved and ground into fine chia seed flour. Thanks to its excellent binding properties, chia seed flour is used to thicken sauces, soups and stews. It is also used for general cooking and baking purposes.
Chia seed flour is a versatile product that enhances smoothies, creamy desserts, baked goods, dressings and more. Besides an especially large amount of vegetable protein and omega-3 fatty acids, it contains importanttrace elements, minerals and vitamins. Its subtle, nutty flavour makes chia seed flour a perfect ingredient for bread and other dough-based products. Thanks to its binding properties, it is often used as a thickener for soups and sauces or a vegan egg substitute.
